Today we will teach you the basics of how to use the flash, this important tool in situations whit less light. And it will help you creating amazing Images.<\/p>

During a perfect sunset shoot, the use of flash will be very helpful since the sky behind your subject will be very bright, to have your subject properly exposed you need to add some light with the flash.<\/p>

That is also valid when you are shooting during the day and you have strong shadows (when the sun is too high) because the flash can also fill those shadows and produce a much better image.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Flash Modes: TTL and Manual<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The flash has two ways of operation and you can adjust its power to have the light as strong (or soft) as you need.<\/p>

The easiest way that the flash operates is the TTL or Auto Flash Mode, it is an automatic mode of the flash were it \u00a0will calculate the power needed for the scenery based on your camera settings (Aperture, ISO and Shutter Speed) And its usually identified as TTL or e-ttl to activate this mode you have to first click on the mode bottom then scroll it until it appears the TTL on the left side of your screen.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In the Manual Mode you can set how strong you want your flash to be and this numbers are represented like this :\u00a0<\/p>

From 1\/1 it is the full power of the flash, it will be a very strong light<\/p>

1\/2 it is half of the power and the next ones are the same, always half of the power of the previous one:<\/p>

1\/4, 1\/8, 1\/16, 1\/32, 1\/64, 1\/128 and 1\/256<\/p>

Keep in mind that stronger the power longer the flash will take to charge again, so if you shoot with the full power it will take few seconds until the flash works again, and you can know that it is ready to shoot again when the led is green or by the beep.<\/p>

The Flash also has a zoom, and depending the situation it can be very helpful, if you are using it on the Auto or TTL mode the flash will adjust the zoom to the same zoom that you have in your lens, otherwise you can set it using the zoom bottom then using the scroll control.<\/p>

A very useful resource on the flash is the modeling light and you can activate it clicking on this bottom: ant it is basically a reference light for the camera to help you finding the focus point :<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

If you are shooting indoors and you have a white ceiling it is a good tip to bounce your flash turning it up that way the light will be much softer and you will get a nicer image as well.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
